VOWR 800

VOWR 800 AM is a historic, volunteer-run, non-commercial radio station based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Operating at 800 kHz, it is Newfoundland's pioneer radio station and one of the oldest in North America, having launched on July 20, 1924, under the original call sign 8WMC. The station is owned and operated by the Wesley United Church Radio Board. Its broadcasting studios are located directly inside the Wesley United Church at 101 Patrick Street.
